Balinese Villa Holidays
For the uninitiated, a few words should be said about Bali villa holidays. We offer an experience generally unique in much of the Western world, with a hybrid of all the conveniences one expects from a luxury hotel with the quiet, relaxing nature of a private home, without strictures of meal timing, delays etc.
As with any quality hotel, all needs are catered for, leaving guests free to spend their time as they choose, be it sitting
by the pool sipping something chilled, surfing on the beaches or traveling further afield to explore all that is unique to
the island of Bali.
We should also have a word on cost. The villa is likely to end up costing significantly less than anything other than budget
hotel accommodation on the island. While rooms are available for comparable cost, everything else will cost far less at the
villa.
When you stay at Hidden Beach, the only extras you will pay for are cost prices for food and drink that you have the staff
prepare for you and transportation. Everything else is included, although we would ask that you reward staff with a tip at
the end of your stay if you feel it is justified ( we are sure you will ).
Villa Description
Hidden Beach Villa is located at the bottom of Jalan Nelayan in the area of Canggu in South Western Bali. Canguu is located around 30 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes drive from the Seminyak/Kuta area where one finds the prime dining,
entertainment and nightlife area of Bali. Inland, the area is surrounded by paddy fields with accommodation being other
luxury villas intermingled with traditional Balinese family homes.
The villa is located a mere 50m from Canggu beach, which offers superb surfing and swimming (although take care - currents
can pose a hazard). When you get to the beach to the right you will se the South West of Bali extending down towards the
airport - around a 60 minute walk for some of the best food to be found on the island in Seminyak and a little further to
Kuta beach.
The villa lies at the bottom of a short road. It offers four double bedrooms well as a watchtower containing a double bed (we don't describe this as a bedroom but between April and October it tends to get used as such by teenagers). The villa is divided up such that it is able to offer both the Main Villa comfortably accommodating up to six people and the Riverside Pavilion , which is a private one bedroom villa. The villa offers extensive interior and exterior living with a main pool and three other
plunge pools and a view over the river at the bottom and the Indian Ocean shortly beyond.
The villa also offers wireless internet connection which can be accessed via prepaid cards.
The villa is staffed by six extremely helpful and high quality employees. They all speak some English, although we would
recommend using Oka as the main point of contact. A full time house manager, Oka, who will coordinate your stay at the villa. He speaks good English and will be able to offer
advice in all matters relating to your stay.
Two Cooks, Ayu and Nengah. They are able to prepare both Asian and Western food to a high standard. A menu is provided
although if there is anything you would like to try they would be happy to prepare it for you. We would especially recommend
the Balinese specialities. Many of our guests have decided that they would prefer to simply relax at the villa given the
quality of the food!
Housekeeper, Kadek. With the other staff, Kadek will make sure all rooms are kept pristine through your stay as well as
making sure operational aspects of the villa run smoothly.
Gardener, Dewa. Dewa will unobtrusively ensure that the pools and garden are kept beautiful throughout your stay.
Housekeeping/Security, Lingga. While the villa is extremely safe (we have never had any problems in over 6 years of owning it), we provide 24/7 security and Lingga remains on the premises when the rest of the staff return to their homes as well as assisting the rst of the staff during their stay.
The Main Villa
You enter the main villa into the inside/outside living/dining area which overlooks the main garden and the pool. This
provides a comfortable dining and sitting area for at least eight people. It also contains a music centre and bar area with
local artwork. Leading to the garden, the main pool is around 14x5m with a paddling area for the very young (or very lazy).
There is a good large area for sunbathing for those so minded.
To the right is the master bedroom, with inside seating and a super king sized bed on a high platform. The Master Bedroom, as
with all the bedroom pavilions, comes with an en-suite bathroom. It also has a separate plunge pool and sitting area just
outside the main doors.
To the right of the Master Bedroom is a double bedroom providing a work area as well as private bathroom.To the left lies a large private bedroom pavilion with a separate sitting out area and plunge pool. Above the dining area you will find the observation tower. At the first level is a dining area with spectacular views over the Indian Ocean and towards Nusa Dua which comfortable seats four. Further up you will find the sleeping area for intrepid teenagers - it also has spectacular view over Bali - we would not recommend you use it as a bedroom during the hot season as there is no air conditioning.
All other rooms offer full air conditioning, television and VCD/DVD facilities. All bathrooms are provided with cosmetics.
The Riverside Pavilion
Available for rent either on its own for up to 2 people or as part of the whole villa complex for a larger group, the
Riverside Pavilion is accessed either through the garden (if rented as part of the whole complex) or via a private entrance.
It provide a two story one bedroom pavilion. On entering there is a private sitting out area, both laid to lawn and an
additional raised area where decking and another plunge pool are situated. The lower floor is a half floor, with a shaded
perfect for relaxation and/or massage, with the inside area being a large bathroom and a stairway leading to the bedroom
suite upstairs. He bedroom provides a study space as well as a super king sized bed and sitting area. Overlooking the river
and sea is a balcony were guests can also relax.
