Location and Transportation

Hidden Beach Villa is located at the bottom of Jalan Nelayan in the area of Canggu in South Western Bali. Canguu is located around 30 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes drive from the Seminyak/Kuta area where one finds the prime dining, entertainment and nightlife area of Bali. Inland, the area is surrounded by paddy fields with accommodation being other luxury villas intermingled with traditional Balinese family homes.

The villa is located a mere 50m from Canggu beach, which offers superb surfing and swimming (although take care - currents can pose a hazard). When you get to the beach to the right you will se the South West of Bali extending down towards the airport - around a 60 minute walk for some of the best food to be found on the island in Seminyak and a little further to Kuta beach.

The villa lies at the bottom of a short road. It offers four double bedrooms, s well as a watchtower containing a double bed (we don't describe this as a bedroom but between April and October it tends to get used as such by teenagers). The villa is divided up such that it is able to offer both the Main Villa (link?) accommodating and the Riverside Pavilion (Link?), which is a private one bedroom villa. The villa offers extensive interior and exterior living with a main pool and three other plunge pools and a view over the river at the bottom and he Indian Ocean shortly beyond.

Transportation in Bali

There are a number of alternatives. One point to note is that Bali is a large island and if you want to travel around road signage is sometimes non-existent and driving conditions are not necessarily similar to those you are used to.The traditional backpackers choice is to rent a scooter. Advantages are you feel like a local, and they are extremely cheap and quick to get around. The main disadvantage is that unless you are acquainted with Balinese driving practices this can be hazardous. If you go down this route you certainly do so at your own risk.

Taxis are readily available and the staff will organize for you. They are inexpensive (around USD5 for a 30 minute journey) and reliable. This is probably the best option for short trips into Seminyak.

Finally, you can hire a car, with or without a driver. While the former is cheap and simple (we can organize ahead of time or when you arrive for approx USD20 a day for a basic seven seater Kijang), unless you know Balinese driving and roads, we would recommend the later. We will organize an excellent driver who will provide up to 10 hours per day driving and waiting for around USD40 including car, driver and fuel (pro-rata overtime over 10 hours), which can be done either for your full visit or on a day by day basis. We deliberately do not include this in villa packages, recognising differing holiday requirements. We would certainly recommend getting a driver should you choose to explore the more remote parts of Bali. The driver will also be able to show you thing you otherwise would be likely to miss out on.
